What is the purpose of Knowing Jesus Ministries?

Every morning, God’s people rise to work.

  • A construction worker laces his boots.
  • A lawyer knots her tie and buttons a jacket.
  • A surgeon dons scrubs and hurries in to repair a child’s failing heart.
  • An AI engineer taps the keyboard, crafting fresh lines of code.
  • A musician strums tentative chords, birthing a new song.
  • A mother of three turns a toy-strewn room into a breakfast table.

Across careers and kitchens, believers labor—yet many never link their work to God’s larger story. As a result, Monday feels secular and God’s purposes feel distant. Faith is boxed into Sunday services, quick devotions, or the occasional Bible study, while the bulk of life feels spiritually neutral.

Scripture paints a different picture. In Genesis, God issues the Cultural Mandate: “Be fruitful … fill the earth and subdue it” (Gen 1:28). Dominion is a holy call to build, cultivate, and bless—families, businesses, art, governments—so creation echoes His glory.

God delights in the web-design mock-up, the cleared drain, the conquered algebra proof. Because He cares about everything, everything matters. Every sphere of life is a stage for honoring Christ and advancing His kingdom.

This is why Knowing Jesus Ministries exists: to bridge the Sunday-Monday divide. We equip ordinary Christians to follow Jesus wholeheartedly—at home, at work, and in the public square—by proclaiming timeless truths for every sphere of life.

How is Knowing Jesus Ministries related to The Journey Church?

Erik Reed is the Lead Pastor of The Journey Church in Lebanon, TN and the founder of both TJC and Knowing Jesus Ministries (KJM). KJM serves to share timeless truths for every sphere of life with people beyond the ministry reach of TJC. The heart of the ministry is to point to Christ, equip believers with God's truth and to encourage site visitors to join in fellowship with churches in their local area.
